Bart completed his undergraduate degree in Human Movement Sciences at the VU University, Amsterdam. After completing the tract on movement control and simulation, his research project focussed on the development of the forward dynamic simulation of a musculoskeletal model that could be used to compare the impact of different techniques used by high-bar gymnasts.
As a part of his masters in research, he spent his internship in Marseille at the Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes. His masters dissertation focussed on a procedure that allows for the identification of the generating dynamical systems underlying rhythmic and discrete movements.
As a PhD student on the Multiscale simulation of the musculoskeletal system his research topic is ‘The estimation of muscle forces under variable neuromotor control’.
Bart is working on Work Package 2. Body Model.
