Dr Muhammad Qasim graduated from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore with honours in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. His doctoral research focused on the biomechanics of disc degeneration disease and its role in the low back pain. He joined Mayo Clinic, Rochester as a Research engineer working on the development of patient-specific finite element models to predict osteoporotic hip fracture risk. In 2014 he joined University of Sheffield as a Research Associate in MultiSim project focussing on the Organ level modelling.
