An overview of our research in biomechanics and mechanobiology by MultiSim’s Director Professor Lacroix

Professor Damien Lacroix, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the MultiSim project, talks about his research into biomechanics and mechanobiology. His research through the MultiSim project, focuses on understanding the effects of mechanical stimuli on cells and tissues within the body.
The vision of this project is to develop and research a modelling framework focusing on the human musculoskeletal system, in particular developing new technologies that are able to predict bone fractures in oesteoprosis providing a more reliable diagnosis of the disease, better treatment and ultimately improving quality of life.
