There’s not long to go until the annual Insigneo Showcase – Friday 8th May 2015.
The Insigneo Institute for in silico medicine is a collaborative initiative between the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is a multi-disciplinary institute involving over 130 academics and clinicians who collaborate to develop computer simulations of the human body and its disease processes that can be used directly in clinical practice to improve diagnosis and treatment. This is probably the most sophisticated application of computing technology in healthcare – Sheffield has become the UK’s main centre for this work.
The Showcase offers Insigneo researchers from the University and NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, industrial contacts and academic colleagues from a variety of disciplines a chance to get together for a day of discussions, networking and presentations. The event is for invited guests only and with more than 200 high profile attendees from healthcare research and industry, the Showcase is the focal point in the Insigneo event calendar.
This year the spotlight will be on the theme of ‘Big Data Analytics’ – something that is particularly topical at the moment. There will be an exhibition area which will give an insight into the latest research developments within the Institute, numerous talks from Insigneo members and research groups, as well as plenty of networking opportunities throughout the day.
Something new to the 2015 Insigneo Showcase will be the panel debate – definitely one to watch out for.
There will of course be a MultiSim stand at the event so make sure you pop over and say ‘hi!’ We will be showing videos that highlight our programme developments – if you don’t get chance to stop by our stall we will be putting the videos our website so keep an eye out for them.
